Beli Emas Sekarang

20 September 2011 13 comments

Gold Rush in Malaysia

14 September 2011 Tinggalkan komen

Berikut artikel mengenai gold rush yg dipetik drp TheStar:

Gold rush leads to bank running out safe deposit box space

PETALING JAYA: It’s now near impossible to keep your valuables and important documents in banks.Banks have run out of safe deposit boxes, with those applying for the facility told to “wait indefinitely”.

The problem has been made more acute with many people buying gold bars and jewellery to cash in on the rising price of the commodity and looking for places to keep them safe.

Checks by The Star with several banks revealed that the waiting list for safe deposit boxes had run into the hundreds, with a Maybank branch officer in Kuala Lumpur saying there were 700 people on the list.

“I am sorry, sir, but we have no more boxes to offer. We can’t give you a timeframe of when you will be able to get one,” said a bank officer .

Association of Banks Malaysia (ABM) executive director Chuah Mei Lin said the waiting list for safe deposit boxes depended on the suitability of the bank premises in terms of location, size and security.

“Banks also have to determine if there is a requisite demand for such services within the community they serve,” she said.

Due to the problem, many people are resorting to buying safes to store their valuables.

An employee of a popular DIY shop in SS2 said more safes were being bought by customers, who included those operating businesses.

“I can sell about 10 to 20 safes each week.

“I have many people walking in to look for a good, dependable safe,” he added.

Depending on the size and make, the prices of safes start from RM500 to RM3,000 and above.

The rental charge for safe deposit boxes by banks are according to size.

A shoebox-sized box is usually rented out for about RM200 a year.

Due to the inavailability of the safe deposit boxes in banks, many private companies have sprouted up over the past few years offering the service.

One company specialising in such services, the Malaysian Royal Safe Deposit Boxes (MSDB), said it was faced with increasing requests for safe deposit boxes.

“We have many walk-in customers daily and have to add new boxes due to increasing demand,” said a spokesman who identified himself as Dhaliwal.

Most private companies offer insurance coverage of up to RM100,000 per box, compared with about RM10,000 by banks.

The private firms usually charge higher rentals than banks for safe deposit boxes, with rent of RM290 for a standard-sized box a year.

Another such company official said the service it offered was better than banks.

“We are open round the clock throughout the week while banks operate during office hours and are closed during weekends.”

Membeli Emas 916

10 September 2011 2 comments

NO PURCHASE DATE GRAM  PRICE COST WORKMANSHIP RETURN
1 20/07/2007 7.72 $84.00 $648.48 $41.52 144.05%
2 20/10/2007 5.74 $85.00 $487.90 $137.10 141.18%
3 23/10/2007 21.92 $80.15 $1,756.89 $153.11 155.77%
4 26/02/2011 17.22 $157.00 $2,703.54 $101.46 30.57%
5 10/06/2011 4.56 $161.00 $734.00 $62.00 27.33%
6 13/08/2011 28.67 $180.00 $5,161.00 $839.00 13.89%

Nota: Pembetulan – KFH hanya menawarkan emas dgn ketulenan 995 (bukan 999).

Cerita Emas Terkini

Ikuti petikan berikut daripada Bloomberg. Buat masa ni, saya agak bullish dgn logam berharga terutamanya emas.

Gold May Advance For Third Day

Immediate-delivery gold rose $2.55, or 0.2 percent, to $1,519.57 an ounce by 8:53 a.m. in London. Gold for June delivery was 0.2 percent higher at $1,519.10 an ounce on the Comex in New York. Photographer: Adrian Moser/Bloomberg

Gold gained for a third day in London as deepening concern over Europe’s sovereign debt crisis spurred demand for the metal as a protection of wealth.

The Greek government endorsed an accelerated asset-sale plan and 6 billion euros ($8.4 billion) of budget cuts to win extra aid. Fitch Ratings yesterday lowered the outlook on Belgium’s credit rating to negative, following Standard & Poor’s May 20 announcement that Italy’s debt rating was at risk of a downgrade. Bullion climbed to a record priced in euros.

“Concerns over the ability of euro-zone peripheral nations to contain their debt continue to intensify,” James Moore, an analyst at TheBullionDesk.com in London, said in a report. “We expect further dip-buying to underpin gold.”

Immediate-delivery gold gained $5.75, or 0.4 percent, to $1,522.78 an ounce by 11:32 a.m. in London. Gold for June delivery was 0.5 percent higher at $1,522.80 an ounce on the Comex in New York.

Bullion rose to $1,520.75 an ounce in the morning “fixing” in London, used by some mining companies to sell output, from $1,510.50 at yesterday’s afternoon fixing.

Concern about faster inflation, Europe’s debt crisis, a weakening dollar and fighting in Libya boosted gold to a record $1,577.57 on May 2. Prices are up 7.2 percent in 2011 after climbing the past 10 years, the longest run of gains in at least nine decades. The metal reached an all-time high of 1,081.87 euros an ounce today, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

Euro Area Woes

The Standard & Poor’s GSCI Index of 24 commodities today rebounded after slumping 1.7 percent yesterday, while the dollar yesterday reached a seven-week high versus six major currencies. Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS), after recommending selling commodities last month, said it is turning “more bullish” on raw materials.

“Debt woes of the euro-zone nations continued to unsettle investors,” said Ong Yi Ling, a Singapore-based investment analyst with Phillip Futures Pte. “Gold defied a stronger dollar and weaker commodities to rise higher in a flight to safety.”

Gold held in exchange-traded products rose 6.8 metric tons to 2,052.36 tons yesterday, data compiled by Bloomberg show. Silver assets dropped 34.62 tons to 14,005.34 tons, the lowest level since October.

Silver for immediate delivery rose 1.8 percent to $35.7225 an ounce in London. Palladium gained 0.8 percent to $736.75 an ounce. Platinum was 0.5 percent higher at $1,762.05 an ounce.
